What are the differences between the Salsa 5 Air and the Salsa 4 Air?

Baby carrycot with new folding system on the underside
The baby carrycot of the Salsa 5 Air can now be folded flat even more easily. On the underside, you will find two levers that allow you to easily unlock the carrycot and then press it together. Thanks to the redesigned connecting parts on the side, the carrycot is now also significantly flatter. With the old Salsa 4 Air, you had to remove the mattress and unlock the two metal brackets to fold it. This was not quite as easy and convenient as the new folding system.
Baby carrycot with one-hand operation for hood
When you are carrying your baby, you can now easily fold back the hood of the baby carrycot with your other hand. To do this, briefly press the button on each side to unlock the hood adjustment. With the previous Salsa 4 Air model, you had to press the release buttons simultaneously, which is not possible with one hand. You will love this added convenience in everyday use.
Breathable backrest with large mesh window
On warm summer days, it's almost impossible to prevent your child from sweating on their back. The new Salsa 5 Air offers a solution for this too. The backrest is equipped with a large mesh window for ideal air circulation. This ensures that moisture is effectively wicked away or minimized in advance. On really warm days, you can also sit your child directly on the seat and leave the additional seat insert at home.
Comfort seat cover (multi-part & removable)
The Salsa 5 Air comes with our new comfort seat cover. The multi-part cover makes the sports seat even more comfortable and easier to clean. The seat cushion offers more lateral support in both the head and seat areas. The seat cover is also available in many other colors and designs as accessories, so you can customize your Salsa. Unfortunately, the new seat covers are not compatible with the previous model, the Salsa 4 Air.
HappyBelt® 5-point comfort harness with magnetic closure
Starting with the 2025 collection, the Salsa is equipped with our new HappyBelt® harness system. This makes getting in and out much more comfortable. The slightly protruding shoulder straps are no longer in the way. You can now adjust the harness length in just a few seconds. The harness buckle is equipped with a magnet. You can close it easily and reliably with one hand. With the Salsa 4 Air, fastening the harness was much more complicated and you always needed two hands.
Extended sun canopy with fold-out sun visor
With the Salsa 5 Air, you benefit from an extended sun canopy on the sports seat. Not only can you fold out the canopy, but you also have an additional sun visor at the very front. You can fold this in or out as required. This makes a decisive difference, especially in extreme lighting conditions, such as when the sun is low in the evening.
Additional attachment points for accessories on the protective bar
Previously, there was only one attachment point for accessories in the seat area on the frame. This meant you always had to decide whether to attach the sunshade or the cup holder. With the Salsa 5 Air, you now get two additional attachment points on the bumper bar. Now you can use current and future accessories at the same time and flexibly. Just the way you want it.
